and I can't re-install from disk as I have downloaded from the website.
And you didn't save and backup the installer you downloaded? You should always do this as you never know when you may need to re-install.
If you have another computer that does not have FileMaker installed on it, you can try downloading the the free 30 day trial to it. Then you can copy over the dictionary file from this trial copy.
If you contact customer service and can provide proof of ownership, (You DID register with them didn't you?), they can send you a download link for new copy of the installer.
I have an earlier version of filemaker on another computer at my office, fow do I find this library?
On my Windows XP machine, I found it at:
C:\Program Files\FileMaker\FileMaker Pro 11 Advanced\Extensions\Dictionaries
Don't know if the earlier version of this file is compatible or not.
Thanks, Looks like that worked! Now when I go to update the rest of my machines, should I go through this same process, or should I wait until there is a more complete update?
Also, I'd just like to thank you for your response time - super quick. Thansk very much!
This error should not happen--something happened to your file on that one machine to damage or delete this file that is not typical of how this updater functions (otherwise, we'd be inundated with reports on this issue by now...). so I would not expect it with each update.
To be safe, however, I'd download a new copy of the updater.
Great! I just got off the phone with customer support, who sent me a link to download Filemaker again. Thanks for the help!
