Summary

Export Records to file eventually leaves file opened and it can't be overwritten ... file locked

Product

FileMaker Pro

Version

10 and 11

Operating system version

Windows 7 and Vista

Description of the issue

When attempting to export records to a file with repetition, overwriting the file each time, eventually the export fails with the 'locked file ....' type error.

This happens on 2 different machines, 2 different FMP versions and 2 different windows platforms.

I have verified that FM shows as having the file opened.

Steps to reproduce the problem

Script to export records to file is set on-timer running every hour.

Expected result

File is overwritten every time without any errors.

Actual result

File eventually can not be overwritten and an FM must be restarted.

Exact text of any error message(s) that appear

"WHATEVERFILE.XML" could not be created on this disk. Use a different name, make more room on the disk, unlock it or use a different disk.

Configuration information

I've tried inserting a 'close file' into the script after the export.

Workaround

None ... I really have no idea what to do.
