I had a similar issue using FM 11 on Windows XP Version 2002 service pack 3. The problem would only occur on some machines using an intel graphic display driver. Issue was resolved when I updated the Graphic display driver. I would suggest updating your display driver.
Thank you for your post.
Do you have any other machines that are PowerPC Macs? If so, are they also exhibiting the same problem?
How much memory do you have on that Mac? What other applications are running? Any other information you can provide may be helpful in possibly narrowing down the problem.
We do have one other PPC mac, but it almost never gets used. I'll try leaving it on with the database open for a few days to see if the same problem occurs.
On the iMac in question, it is an iMac G5/1.8Ghz with 1GB RAM and she runs no other applications except for Mail and Safari. I can't really think of any other information about that system that would be pertinent. Her entire job and the entire function of her system revolves around a single FileMaker database. I've tried opening other databases on her computer to see if they have the same problem, and they do. When the problem occurs, a restart of FM or the OS will not fix it - only a reinstall of FileMaker 11. For now, we put her back on FM 10.
