Summary

Field formatted as Pop-up menu displays as blank when data field format is set to Decimal etc.

Product

FileMaker Pro

Version

12

Operating system version

Mac Os X 10.6.8

Description of the issue

After converting an FM 11 solution, I noticed that many of my pop-up menu fields appeared to be blank.
It was possible to make choices from the value list, but nothing was visible in the field. The data is stored as normal in the field.
After some time I was able to narrow it down to a setting in the Data Formatting panel in the Inspector.
If a pop-up menu field is set to have Decimal format, it will display as blank.
Changing the format to General or As entered resolves the issue.

Steps to reproduce the problem

Place a number field on a layout using a Pop-up menu control style.
Attach a value list.
Set the field format to Boolean, Decimal, Currency or Percent.

Expected result

Changing the data formatting to Decimal or other formats should not blank the field.
It works as expected in FM 11.

Actual result

The field displays as blank.

Configuration information

The uploaded image shows three pop-up fields in two columns.
The first column has had the data format changed too General
The second column is as it was after conversion from FM 11, with the data format set to Decimal.

Workaround

Changing the format to General or As entered resolves the issue.
