Can you remove the arial font from this machine and re-install it from another source?
Thanks for posting.
Does this issue occur in a new database? You may want to check for updates to the printer driver on the manufacturer's website.
Thanks for the replies. Responses to questions, and new info:
When I make a new db from scratch, it prints what we see on screen to the printer in that case. However, it’s printing the font in italics even though Inspector shows no italics turned on for the fields. Arial is the default font assigned to newly-created db fields.
In this new case (db created in FM11v3) if I turn italics on then off, it still prints italics.
Other things to know, for newly-created--
Arial is the default font on her install, and all our others as-delivered.
If I change to another font (eg Times New Roman or Courier New) it prints as expected – the selected font, not in italics, in black on printer output.
DBs created in FM 6 and converted to v11 still print layouts with no field info showing, unless I change the font to something other than Arial.
All suggestions appreciated!
We didn't figure out what the exact problem was, but it is now fixed. Two steps to the fix:
1) We reinstalled the font. Interestingly, the font now shows as Courier Black in some lists, and only Courier in others. This fixed the problem in some layouts but not others.
2) At that point we gave up troubleshooting, and uninstalled and reinstalled FileMaker 11 and the v03 update.
Thanks to everyone for their help.
