File is not modifiable after conversion from 11 to 12.
OS X 10.7.3
I recently converted several FileMaker 11 databases to FileMaker 12. Now when I sign in using the same Full Access privileges I used before, I cannot add scripts or fields. I am provided with the following error message: "This action cannot be performed because the file is not modifiable".
Open FileMaker 12 database.
Try to add field or add script.
Able to add field or add script.
Unable to add field or add script.
This action cannot be performed because the file is not modifiable.
Recently converted files to version 11 to 12.
None. Other than recreating the entire file!
That error message is telling you that you do not have "write" permission to the file or to the folder that contains it.
Try dragging the file out to the desktop before opening it to see if it's a permissions issue. Also use get info to check to see if the file has been set to Read Only status.
