File names with Open URL step

Summary

File names with Open URL step & fmp:/ URL

Product

FileMaker Pro

Version

13.0v5 (and surely all prior)

Operating system version

Mac OS X 10.8.5

Description of the issue

An Open URL script step supposed to open a database file with an fmp:/ URL seem to handle database file names differently than a web browser, at least Safari : with the script step, the file name MUST NOT BE ENCODED on the URL. For instance,  If you process the filename with the GetAsURLEncoded calc function which substitute a space char by a %20 string, an error 100 will occurs just after Open URL and of course, nothing happens. Knowing that, you can obviously generate your URL accordingly when, and only when, you are using the script step instead a web browser.

However, if your filename contain special chars as "é", you have no luck and must rename your file.

Steps to reproduce the problem

Try to access an hosted file with an Open URL step, where the database file is called  "Base de données".
Try the same with Safari and be sure the filename is encoded.

Expected result

Both methods must be able to able to open the file.

Actual result

Only the second method works.

Exact text of any error message(s) that appear

100

Configuration information

See above.

Workaround

Rename your file.
