Port 5003 is necessary for sharing files with FileMaker Pro. Make sure this port is not blocked.
If this still does not rectify the problem, please let me know.
TS Gal, thank you for you post.
As I indicated in my message, I have these problems mostrly in the afternoon and evening. If port 5003 were not operating, then I would never have access at all from what you say.
This is a variable problem that I encounter. Some of the time I can log on and all is ok and functioning. Other times I cannot or the speed is too slow for the system to be used. Unfortunately I have many more bad times than good times. I have used speedtest.net to see what bandwidth I am operating during these times and its typically 3 mb/s download and .4 mb/s upload.
I have tried to resolve this problem in numerous ways and I cannot tell you the damaging impact this is having on my company, having invested so much time, effort and money to get the sstem developed and set up. At the moment, in short, it is an unmitigated desaster!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for the additional information.
It sounds more like network traffic than port 5003. Is anybody running a report over the network during the afternoon and/or evening? What other activities are occurring over the network.
