Summary

FileMaker 12: Freeze Window script step prevents portal scrolling

Product

FileMaker Pro

Version

12

Operating system version

10.7.4

Description of the issue

In previous versions of FileMaker Pro, we used to be able to write a script that would FREEZE THE WINDOW, then scroll through a portal until it stops on a particular related record.

This is no longer possible in FileMaker 12. The "Freeze Window" script step PREVENTS the user from ending up on the desired related record.

These script steps USED TO WORK in FileMaker 11:

Freeze Window
Go To Field [Line Items::Amount]
Loop
     Exit Loop If [Line Items::Amount = 0]
     Go to Portal Row [Next; Exit after last]
End Loop
Commit Records/Requests [Skip data entry validation; No dialog]

But these script steps no longer work in FileMaker 12. In FileMaker 12, you have to remove the "Freeze Window" script step in order for FileMaker to leave you on your desired record.

(Yes, the portal setup is UNCHECKED for "Reset scroll bar when exiting record".)

Please fix! Thank you!
