I must also report that I was able to open FileMaker 14 (trial version) just fine. The 30-day trial ran out so I wasn't able to use it for a couple of weeks. Today I purchased the version. I uninstall then install and that is when I started seeing this problem. I am not opening a filemaker file, I'm just opening the application but with no luck.
I recommend a call to FileMaker Tech Support. Support to resolve installation problems should be free.
You might check for Plugins before calling support. Plugins can be installed under
- Applications/FileMaker Pro 14/Extensions (or similar; in the folder of the FileMaker application in the subfolder 'Extensions'))
- Library/Application Support/FileMaker/Extensions
If there are any 3 party plugins: drag them all out of the folders to deactivate them
2nd question: Are You running FM in 32 or 64 bit?
I do have Adobe Creative Cloud. I had to turn off or disable the "active sync" with the fonts I have with Adobe. Now it works!
Thank you for the post.
