FileMaker 9.0.3 - Instant Web Publishing - unable connect after first five IPs

Question asked by wlado_1 on Nov 19, 2008

Summary

FileMaker 9.0.3 - Instant Web Publishing - unable connect after first five IPs

Description of the issue

On the first Mac OS X 10.4 (or 10.5) is instaled FileMaker Pro (Advanced) 9.0.3 with working IPW. IP address is 10.0.0.2. On the second Mac is a web browser. IP address is 10.0.0.3. Then is changed to 10.0.0.4, then to 10.0.0.5, then to 10.0.0.6, then to 10.0.0.7. In all cases (IP from 10.0.0.3 to 10.0.0.7) is the web browser Safari able correctly connect to IPW on first computer. But when IP address on second computer is changed to another value, for example 10.0.0.8, the web browser is unable to connect to IPW on first computer because IPW sends a warning message. It seems to be big bug, because information/licence is talking about:"Up to 5 simultaneous IP addresses can access your published database."(http://www.filemaker.com/products/fmp/connect.html)And in example above is simultaneously only one computer with one IP address and it does not work.
