      Summary

Filemaker Adv Server does not see SQL Views but Pro Adv does

      Product

      FileMaker Server

      Version

      11

      Operating system version

      Server 2008 32 bit

      Description of the issue

I have an external ODBC connection running on my filemaker pro adv client running on windows 7 64 bit. it connects to an sql 2008 database. it connects to two tables on the sql machine that are views of other databases.

Tried the same thing on server adv and I do not even see the two tables, it shows me the system tables under the sql 2008 views, system tables folder???

makes no sense to me how it works fine on one and not the other ??

      Steps to reproduce the problem

create a view of a sql 2008 table
connect it with the native ms windows 7 64bit odbc driver
validate the view in a local database running on filemaker pro adv

set up the same odbc drive on the server 2008 machine 32 bit with filemaker server adv
the same views do not appear for the external odbc connection in filemaker

Thank you for your post, and I apologize for the late reply.

My first thought is that the DSN is not set up properly on Server.  From FileMaker Pro client, open the file being hosted on Server, pull down the File menu and select Manage -> External Data Sources.  Although you initially set this up on your local machine, verify the path or reset it for the Server machine.

If you are continuing to have difficulty, let me know what actions you have made on the Server.
