      Summary

FileMaker Go does not recognize FileMaker files with all uppercase letters in name

      Product

      FileMaker Go

      Version

Most recent version FileMaker Go 12 for IPad downloaded through iTunes

      Operating system version

      Mac OS10

      Description of the issue

Emailed current FileMaker Pro 12 files so that they could be copied to IPad Mini.  Some files have carried all upper case names since they were created in FM 5, and all are working well in FM Pro 12.  These files could not be opened in FileMaker Go, an error message received stated that they were not FileMaker files.

      Configuration information

In comparing the files which could not be opened to those that did open, it was noted that the files which opened successfully had mixed case or all lower-case names.

      Workaround

Renaming files in FileMaker 12 Pro to mixed case or all lower-case names, adjusting the referenced tables in Relationships and then emailing copies of the re-named files to be opened in FileMaker Go is expected to result in the ability to use these files in FileMaker Go and import new information back into FileMaker Pro 12 to update the master files
