FileMaker Pro with multiple users on OS X Server / fast user switching

Question asked by DickHoning_1 on Jul 2, 2012

Summary

FileMaker Pro with multiple users on OS X Server / fast user switching

Product

FileMaker Pro

Version

10

Operating system version

OS X 10.6, 7

Description of the issue

When FileMaker 10 is used on one machine by multiple users simultaneously
(fast user switching), and where those users have write access to the
FileMaker application folder the following issue occurs.
For the first user logging in everything is fine. Subsequent users will
encounter problems with fonts, dialog boxes missing text. When write
access to the FileMaker application folder is revoked for all users the
problem does not occur.
It seems that certain files (fonts?) within the FileMaker application
folder are opened with write access, causing this issue for the second and
subsequent users.
