Check your log and see if the scheduled back ups ever completed and rescheduled. There's a known issue with scheduled backups not completing at random intervals that might be at issue here.

Actually we have three schedules. Two run daily and one weekly. Till Oct 22, there was FileMaker Server 8. On Oct 23 we upgraded to FileMaker Server 11 Advanced. we have not rescheduled but I think renamed as follows. I guess on Oct 23, Weekly backup schedule was not run as we uninstalled version 8 and installed version 11 during that time. But no job was rescheduled.

If ever a job was not completed and rescheduled, then what should we do now?
Also I like to add that currently each schedule runs fine and have no issue regarding completion.

First, the ODBC/JDBC drivers were rebuilt for FileMaker Pro/Server 11. Second, there were a couple of ODBC/JDBC issues that were resolved in the most recent update (11.0v2). Although your description doesn't quite fit the errors fixed, I would still encourage you to download the FileMaker Server 11.0v2 update from Knowledge Base Article #7724:
