I use this link frequently in Windows with no trouble. This could be a Mac specific issue or the help file on your system (or the part of FileMaker Advanced that queries it when you click this link), may be damaged. You might try re-installing FileMaker to see if it makes any difference here.
Thanks for the quick response. :)
I tried uninstalling & reinstalling FM (plus 11.0v3 update) just now but still get the same behavior.
I've the same problem, it's really annoying.
But, I'm french, so installing Filemaker installs it in french, but I hateto script in french, it's just awfull, so I removed the french.proj in the app package. So I though that was the cause.
Also I installed both regular Filemare and Advanced, maybe that's because of this also.
Please check if you have the same setup as me
Well, I had FileMaker Developer 6 installed alongside FileMaker Pro Advanced 11.0v3 up until I reinstalled today, but no other versions. Right now I just have v11.0v3 (U.S. English) installed and I still have the same problem.
I have another Mac with identical specs (FM 11.0v3 and Mac OS X 10.6.8) and the problem does not appear on this machine.
Not having a current mac to refer to, I can't give specifics on how to do this, but have you tried deleting FileMaker's preferences file?
Thank you for your posts.
When you click on the error code, it should open the "FileMaker Pro error codes" reference in the Help Viewer. If you get the message that Help Viewer cannot open this content, FileMaker Pro is not finding the exact article ID in the FileMaker Help system. This is usually caused by having an older Help System still on your computer. I know that you removed the FileMaker Developer 6, but do you have any other version of FileMaker Pro on your computer? Or, is it possible you still have an old FileMaker Pro folder somewhere on your hard drive? I'm tending to lean towards this possibility since you have it working properly on one machine, and you have uninstalled and reinstalled FileMaker Pro 11.0v3 on the current machine.
Are you able to access "FileMaker Pro Help" from the Help menu? If so, click on Reference, and thenclick on "FileMaker Pro error codes". This is the article that should be called when you click on the error number in the Script Debugger. Make sure for the "FileMaker Pro error codes" article that the title of the window displays "FileMaker Pro 11 Help".
I know a couple of weeks have passed, so if you have found a solution, please post here so others can benefit.
