      Summary

FM11 Menu bar duplicates the 'Format' menu

      Product

      FileMaker Pro

      Version

      11 (using V4 patch)

      Operating system version

      Mac OS 10.8.4

      Description of the issue

      Hi

I have an issue where a client of ours is running Mac OS 10.8.4 and we have recently installed FileMaker 11 Pro on his machine with the V4 patch.

He has two databases which he has open at the same time. The problem is that when ever he minimizes one of the database's it seems to duplicate the menu bars 'Format' menu and continues to do this each time an open database is minimized. This is just using the standard menu bar in FileMaker and no custom menus are used.

I have tried removing FileMaker along with the preferences as instructed in the support post ( http://help.filemaker.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/7095/~/uninstalling-filemaker-pro-and-filemaker-pro-advanced ) and then reinstalling this but no luck and the issue still persists.

      Thanks
      Steve

      Steps to reproduce the problem

Open two databases alongside each other (On a Mac). Click the yellow minimize button and click the other database.

      Expected result

Should simply minimize window with no additional menu items being added to the bar.

      Actual result

This duplicates the 'Format' menu option and continues to do this each time above steps are repeated

If you create a couple of simple, brand new test files for your client, does he get the same results for them? That can help narrow this down to either an issue with the File or rule out the possibility that there's an issue with the file.

If the test files don't show this behavior, you might try recovering the original files and then testing the recovered copies to see if they show the same behavior.
