Summary

FM11 Runtime scripted imports very slow

Product

FileMaker Pro

Version

FMPA 11 v3 for Windows

Operating system version

Windows 7

Description of the issue

I find that running a runtime scripted import of a few thousand records takes five times longer if the runtime was built with FM11 versus FM10. However I detect no difference when performing that same import with nonruntime versions of the solution (FMPA10 vs FMPA11).

Here is the thread I created on this in the user forum, where I never got a response in over a year and a half:

Steps to reproduce the problem

Build a solution that has an import script that imports data from an older version of the same solution. Create a runtime of the solution with FMPA10 and another runtime with FMPA11. Now test the import of a few thousand records with each runtime.

Expected result

The time to perform the import should be similar.

Actual result

The runtime built with FMPA11 performs the import about five times longer than the import performed with the runtime built with FMPA10.

Workaround

Don't upgrade my runtime clients to FM11.
