Summary

FM11v4 OS X Lion Magic Mouse Horizontal Scrolling

Product

FileMaker Pro

Version

11.0v4

Operating system version

OS X 10.7.2

Description of the issue

In any open FM database, a horizontal scrolling gesture from a Magic Mouse will crash Filemaker, causing it to immediately quit.

The problem is consistent and repeatable.

There is no configuration option in OS X Lion for shutting off horizontal scrolling. The defaults edit that worked in Snow Leopard, is written to the Library Preferences file, but Lion ignores the settings.

defaults write com.apple.driver.AppleBluetoothMultitouch.mouse MouseHorizontalScroll -bool NO

Editing this file directly, allows changing the parameter from TRUE to FALSE, but is ignored.

Steps to reproduce the problem

Open an FM database. Perform a horizontal gesture on a Magic Mouse.
FM crashes immediately.

Expected result

Horizontal scrolling of the screen

Actual result

FM Quits

Exact text of any error message(s) that appear

None

Workaround

MagicPrefs has a setting for removing the horizontal (AND diagonal)
Once set to not allow horizontal or diagonal scrolling, FM does not crash.
