FM14 Edit Relationship Dialog UI Issues on Windows Prevent Automation with WinAutomation

Question asked by dsimpson on Jul 13, 2015

Summary

FM14 Edit Relationship Dialog UI Issues on Windows Prevent Automation with WinAutomation

Product

FileMaker Pro

Version

14.0.1

Operating system version

Windows 7

Description of the issue

All of these issues work perfectly in FileMaker 13 on Windows, using WinAutomation.

Getting the contents of a combobox on the Edit Relationship Dialog - does not appear to be possible.
Setting index of combo box doesn't work. It is safer to set the index of the combo box rather than just typing the TO name.

Typing text directly into combobox - also doesn't work. So a user who tries to speed up the selection of a TO name cannot type ahead to specify the TO name.

Steps to reproduce the problem

Open the Edit Relationship dialog.
Use WinAutomation to create automation scripts.

Expected result

Existing scripts should work, or with slight changes to object names which may have changed.

Actual result

Combo boxes for TOs cannot be set via automation software.

The contents of the TO combo boxes should also be available (like FM13), but they aren't available.

It is also not possible for a user to manually type-ahead when entering TOs (which works perfectly in FM13 and FM14 on MacOSX).

Exact text of any error message(s) that appear

An error is displayed by WinAutomation that the Window is not initialized, but this is not necessarily the real problem.

Configuration information

Windows 7, FileMaker Pro Advanced 64 bit.
