    FMP does not open remote FM database

      Description of the issue

      Then trying to open the remote database (the host is other computer connected to the same network) a box with this text pop up:

      "The maximum number of licensed users are currently using this copy of FileMaker Pro. Please refer to the License Key section of your software documentation for further instructions.

      License Key conflict occurred with user “XXXX”.

      All files will be closed and the application will quit."

      Steps to reproduce the problem

      file>open remote...> enter a link to the existing database on other computer in same network > enter

      Expected result

      open a database this is hosted by other computer. (the file is open on other computer and computer is online)

      Actual result

      box with text pop , file not opened

      Exact text of any error message(s) that appear

      The maximum number of licensed users are currently using this copy of FileMaker Pro. Please refer to the License Key section of your software documentation for further instructions.

      License Key conflict occurred with user “XXXX”.

      All files will be closed and the application will quit.

          The error message suggests that you installed FileMaker Pro on two computers with the same license key (if non-volume license keys) or at least one more computer than your license permits (if using a volume license key).

          Can you check and see if this might be the case here? You can check the license key used on each computer by selecting "About" in the help menu and then clicking the Info button. (Since your host is using FileMaker from what I read here, don't forget to check it as well.)
