Summary

FMP URL scheme requires a workaround for ~ and $ on Filemaker Go 14

Product

FileMaker Go

Version

14

Operating system version

iOS 8.3

Description of the issue

In Filemaker Go 14, the $ (and probably the ~) characters don't work as described in the documentation when opening a file using a URL.

Steps to reproduce the problem

Attempt to run a script via the FMP URL in Filemaker Go, and use the $ in accordance with the documentation to indicate that the file is already open.

Expected result

The script should run.

Actual result

Nothing happens.

Exact text of any error message(s) that appear

None

Configuration information

I was able to reference open files via URL in Filemaker Go 13 using the "$" as it is explained in the documentation. I had to apply the workaround "%24" to make it work in FM Go 14. Both the "$" and the workaround "%24" work as expected in FM Pro 14.

Workaround

This was previously posted on a FM forum and still works:

WORKAROUND:
A locally stored FileMaker Go file can be opened by using the following syntax:
fmp://%7e/
NOTE:
Use ‘%7e’ instead of ‘~’
Use ‘%24’ instead of ‘$’

The post incorrectly states that "This only effects the usage of FileMaker Go when used with iOS 6 and iOS 7."
