               Vincent L:

               Thank you for your post.

Is the Admin Console running on the Server?  If so, switch to another machine and launch Admin Console?  Are you then able to access and close the file?  If not, try issuing the command line:   fmsadmin close -y <filename>

If the issue still fails, what is the error code generated?

Have you tried running a Recover on the file?

                      Thank you for your post.

                      >Is the Admin Console running on the Server?

                      Yes

                      > If so, switch to another machine and launch Admin Console?

                      > Are you then able to access and close the file?

Ok did, same thing, not able to close the file

                      > If not, try issuing the command line:   fmsadmin close -y <filename>

                      It worked, no error.

                      > Have you tried running a Recover on the file?

                      Recover : no error found

                      Consistency check ok

                      Reopening the file was ok.

The issue is not for that fact alone, but the fact that it can happens, while it shouldn't.

I'm not reporting this for my issue, but for helping debug FMS

                 backups worked by the way

Report an Issue has two purposes: To document bugs in the software and to help those reporting the issue deal with that bug so that they can successfully use it while waiting for FileMaker to release an update that fixes it.

TSGal's comment was intended to meet both goals, to help you use the product you currently have on your machine and the fact that the command line worked probably tells here something significant about the nature of this bug that will help FileMaker Inc. figure out how to fix it.

                     Vincent L:

                     Thank you for the information.

Since the file was able to close under the command line but not via Admin Console, I would like to get a clone of the database file.  Please check your Inbox at the top of this page for instructions where to send the file.

                  Same issue appeared again today,

After my mac froze (see other thread). I rebooted it.

Relaunched FMS, all went fine except a file was said to be "opening" while it was actually open, and client were connected to it normally

command line LIST FILES -s reported the file as normal. But web admin thinks it's "opening" (which prevents to close the file if needed)

By the way, it's not particular to a file, it can happen with any file
