Thank you for your post.
Make sure that anonymous authentication is enabled. I would check through the Release Notes that can be found via Knowledge Base Article #10248 at:
Let me know if you continue to run into difficulty.
Thank you for your reply. Anonymos Authentication is enabled (and was too). Release notes checked without any success. Further info:
- Using command promt to manually start, restart and stop wpe produces no error codes.
- Manually stoping wpe prior to drifting produces the same result.
- System is x64.
Did you find a solution to this? I am having the same problem.
Brand new Windows Server 2008 R2 machine, IIS was installed with all the default settings, installing FMSA 12 for the first time.

Partially - I got a new licence code and the admin console now gives a green light. But it is still not possible to access the sample database via direct webpublishing or php...
Apologies, I forgot to redirect my findings...
After intense Googling, I had to:
- Remove DNS servers from the network card
- Restart the Filemaker Service
- Go through the wizard again (successfully this time)
- Re-add the DNS entries
i had the same error installing filemaker server ( fms_126.96.36.1995.exe)
Nothing of the above helped.
I was lucky to have a previous version (fms_188.8.131.52a_5608LLA.exe ) in my downloads , though I have no idea where to find olders versions in the download section.
I uninstalled 12.0.4, rebooted and then installed 12.0.2 whitch works fine.
Sorry guys, but issues where the initial report post is more than 3 months old will not automatically appear in Recent Items and no TS person is subscribed to this thread. Thus, they are unlikely to notice that anyone has posted to this thread. If you still have this issue, I suggest starting a new thread.
