      Summary

fmservicewrapper does not recognize startup state of FMSA after reboot and floods with error e-mails

      Description of the issue

Configuration:  Hardware:  Xserve G5 2 GHzSoftware: FMS 10.0.2.206 , Mac OS X 10.5.8 Server,  most recent Java update (Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 4) FMS Admin Console: FMS has been configured so, that database server and web publishing must be restarted manually after reboot. After a hardware reboot, the following e-mails are sent each hour and flood the mailbox of the recipients: "FileMaker Server 10.0.2.206 on host xxx reported the following event: Thu Aug 06 06:47:00 CEST 2009 FMS ERROR wpe1 Some problems were detected in the WPE COMPONENT: COMPONENT IS NOT RESPONDING. (...)"   The reason is the fmservicewrapper process, which does not recognize that the database server and the WPE were not started. It should only send such messages if the database server and/or the WPE are running and there is really an error.fmservicewrapper has to be killed in order to stop these e-mails.   Best regards, Martin Brändle
