Summary

Foreign characters display/encoding issue when inserting/updating via ODBC

Product

FileMaker Pro

Version

FM 12.0v2

Operating system version

Windows 7

Description of the issue

When updating/inserting UTF8 into a Filemaker database using ODBC, foreign characters like "æøå" does not display correctly in Filemaker GUI. The reason seems to be that "raw" UTF-8 is stored into the FileMaker field without being converted, and FileMaker does not know how to display UTF-8.
