Did you have this working correctly in the past on a Windows 2008 server?
Windows Server 2008 is many generations newer than Filemaker Server 5.5 and Filemaker 6. There is no guarantee from anyone that this will actually work.
Unless you had this working well previously on Windows 2008 Server, you may need to either use an older version of Windows Server such as Server 2000 or you may need to upgrade to the newest version of Filemaker Pro and Server.
Thanks for the respone but looks like i missed on few details here.
1. This is a 64-Bit OS
2. As per my QA staff it works fine on a 32-Bit version OS.
I agree the 2008 R2 is way ahead of FileMaker Server 5.5 and Filemaker 6. but the problem is that our customers keep updating their system with new version or basically buying new server incase of server failure and hence the problem of using Filemaker Server 5.5 on Win 2008 R2 and to top it a 64-Bit OS.
A problem best solved by upgrading to a newer version of FileMaker Pro and FileMaker Server. Yes, it costs money, but the day is coming when your users will have no alternative and it's better to make the upgrade now when you can take your time and do it right rather than try to do it on an emergency crash basis...
