Thanks for posting!
I'm having some trouble replicating this behavior. I created a new database on a Windows 7 machine in FileMaker Pro 11 with a script that set the value of a field to Get(SystemVersion). After running this script, 6.1 was placed in the field as expected.
Is there anything I should be doing in addition to the above in order to reproduce this issue?
Can I send a screen shot of my screen showing 64 bit win7 and a dialog which returns "System Version " & Get ( SystemVersion ) showing 5.1??
You can edit your original post and attach a screenshot there. In addition to that, I'd like to try and figure out what's different between my environment and yours that would cause an incorrect system version to be returned.
Is this file hosted or local? If it's hosted, is the host running Windows 7 or the client? If it's local, can you try moving the file to a different computer running Windows 7 and see if the issue is reproducible there? It may also be a good idea to attempt to reproduce this issue in a brand new file.
Thanks - attached
This is my only W7 machine as it mostly does video editing but is also a test for FM as one client has it and I am trying to resolve a platform issue when getting a window with calculated values for wide & high
I can get them to test this tomorrow too..
The file is locally hosted on the W7 machine on the desktop and no need to talk to the network at all.
Have made a brand new file just one script, same issue
It returns 6.0 on my Vista laptop and 5.1 on all the XP machines here
I can confirm that it works as expected on the clients machine with win7 and a fresh file
So, is it anything to do with 64bit, or where does it get the information from??
If I do the same thing in Java it also gives the wrong result.
Hmmm, wonder if you'd get the same result if you reinstalled FileMaker...
