And what are those instructions that you are "following to the letter"?
There are multiple import options/methods you might use. Some replace all or some of the existing data with new, others add new records so we need to know the exact steps you took to import data.
Please review my initial mail to see the "exactly" you are requesting.
I realize there are multiple options. That is why I sent the string of actions I chose. I had the "add new records" option checked.
I did. But what you describe still leaves out details that could result in either new records added or records replaced by the import.
You insist there is info missing but you do not say what info. I listed what I did. I do not understand what else you want but that should be evident.Never mind, I figure out there was a sort or filter active when I looked in the upper left of the FP screen after running the import. When I chose all records, all of the data was there all along. What could possibly be the reason for showing only the import files in the target file after importing??? Logic would be to see the new file in entirety.I use this program but I am NOT a fan.
One of the main pieces of information missing from your post is the Import actions. In the bottom left area of the "Import Field Mapping" window are the Import Actions. If you have "Add new records" selected, it will add new records to the end of the file. If you have "Update existing records in found set", it will replace the existing records with the new set of records. If you have "Update matching records in found set", then it will replace only those records where a field match occurs in both files.
