Summary

insert file (both command and script) storing only a reference to the file

Product

FileMaker Pro

Version

11

Operating system version

Windows 7

Description of the issue

Action: Insert file into a container field, storing only a reference to the file.
Problem:
I specify a full path for a file to be inserted into a container field.
What I found, when I double click the container field to open the file, is that, if a file with the same name exits in the folder where there is the FM DB, FM open this file and not the correct one.
If I cancel the file in the FM DB folder, FM open the correct file.
This happened both with command and with scripts.

Steps to reproduce the problem

insert file storing only a reference to the file. the file has to be in a folder where the FM DB is not present.
you have another file (different content), whith the same name, in the folder where exists the FM DB in use.
after inserting, double click on the container field to open the file

Expected result

open the file present in the correct folder (the one used to insert it)

Actual result

it open the file present in the folder where it is present the FM DB in use

Exact text of any error message(s) that appear

no error messages

Workaround

cancel or rename the file that is present in the folder with FM DB. at this point FM open the correct file
