Did you try what this error message told you to do? "Please download a fresh copy and retry the installation"
It's possible that your installer didn't download cleanly.

Thank you for your posts, and I apologize for the late reply.
I just downloaded the trial version of FileMaker Pro from our web site, and it installs properly on my Windows XP (SP3) machine without incident.
In case there are some leftover files on your hard drive from the previous installation attempts, remove the FileMaker Pro 11 folder from your hard drive and then try the installation again.
I know some time has passed, so if you have since found a solution, please post here so others can benefit.
