Summary

Instant Web Share problems under 12.0v5, and Mavericks

Product

FileMaker Pro

Version

FMP Advanced 12.0v5

Operating system version

OSX 10.9 (Mavericks)

Description of the issue

Upon opening the file, Instant Web Share database shows the message:  "Filemaker cannot share files because another user is already sharing files using Filemaker Pro on this computer."

The problem persists for any file where IWP is attempted.  Creating an altogether new test file does not solve the issue.

Upon trying to re-setup IWP in the same file the following message appears: "FileMaker cannot share files because another user is already sharing files using FileMaker Pro on this computer."

The problem persists regardless of whether one creates a new FMP database from scratch.

Though there was no problem at first.  The issue started unexpectedly yesterday across all files.

All the files were first created under FMP Advanced 12.0v5.

I am running FMP Advanced 12.0v5 on Mavericks 10.9, late 2012 iMac27 (32GB RAM) and 3TB hard disk.

Uninstalling and reinstalling FMP does not alleviate the problem.

Nor does turning File Sharing or the network itself on and off, or rebooting the Mac.

There are no other instances of FMP running.  Activity Monitor shows none.

Same problem occurs when truing to activate IWP in a one table, one field "test" file.

All instances of possible file sharing in the file where off.  Then tried to activate IWP.

Reinstalling Mavericks over the then current installation made no difference.

An altogether clean install of Mavericks was done last week.

Steps taken to rectify problem to no avail include:

1.  Uninstall and reinstall FMP Advanced (no difference)
2.  Turn off and on Sharing (no difference)
3.  Reboot Mac (no difference)
4.  Turn off and on Networking (no difference)
5.  Turn off and on OSX firewall (no difference)
6.  Delete Filemaker Application Support folder (no difference)
7.  Delete Filemaker preference file  (no difference)
8.  Start and stop Filemaker "FM Web Publishing" app (no difference)
9.  Reinstall Mavericks over the then current installation (no difference)

Steps to reproduce the problem

Create altogether new file, one table and one field.

Invoke IWP.

Same problem occurs, repeatedly.

Expected result

Rectify issue.

Actual result

Made no difference

Exact text of any error message(s) that appear

When opening file in the first place:  "Filemaker cannot share files because another user is already sharing files using Filemaker Pro on this computer."

When trying to setup IWP anew: "FileMaker cannot share files because another user is already sharing files using FileMaker Pro on this computer."

Configuration information

iMac 27 (late 2012), 32GB RAM, 3TB Fusion Drive.  Mavericks clean install.
