I don't see any info in the public release info that suggests that server v4 fixes the "kernal panics" known to occur on ystems with SSD.
For More Information see: Recurring kernel panics on Mac Mini running FileMaker Server (multiple times a day). Java?
This is one of many acknowledged bugs that can be found in the Known Bug List thread here in the Report an Issue section of the forum.
It can also be downloaded as a database file from: https://www.dropbox.com/s/jt09b82i0xijbu3/FMP%20Bugs.zip
On Mac OS X, a "Kernel Panic" is when your system freeze totally. When it occurs, you cannot "Force Quit" the incriminated App nor Relaunch the Finder (desktop and windows manager) as you can usually do. Just Keep computer's On/Off button while 4 seconds to shut down.
I posted a comment to the thread you linked above, just to know if the bug you thought still occurs on v4. I hope not. But if i didn't misunderstood Scott's post, his issue is not a Kernel Panic. He "just" need to relaunch the Web Publishing Engine.
701 error is saying : Data Access Manager can't find database extension file
Could you please confirm that what i said about your issue description was correct ?
Could you also verify your filesname and permission ? If needed, can you try to rename it without spaces nor "special" characters (because of Java 7) nor points (because of the error message) and re-uploading the file with FMS Admin Console (so much better than with the Finder).
Please let us know...
Not a kernel panic, just the 701. Simple file names, no spaces, no special chars. Uploaded with admin console. Very vanilla. V4 does not help our situ.
