It's been around for awhile. I've gotten it every now in then in FileMaker 10 and newer. (But I skipped from 5.5 to 10 so who knows when it first became an issue.)

This is one of many acknowledged bugs that can be found in the Known Bug List thread here in the Report an Issue section of the forum.

But I don't think that scenario applies here.
