Summary

Loss of Right-Click Keyboard Shortcuts From FM11 to FM12/13

Product

FileMaker Pro

Version

12.0v4, 13.0v3

Operating system version

OSX 10.6.8, OSX 10.9.3

Description of the issue

In FileMaker 11, with OSX, when I created a Keyboard Shortcut in Preferences, if that menu item was in the right-click/context menu, I was able to use the keyboard shortcut after right-clicking.

For example, I created keyboard shortcuts for Find Matching Records (⇧⌘F), Constrain Found Set (⇧⌘C), and Extend Found Set (⇧⌘X), which, in Browse Mode, aren't in a menu at the top, but are in the right-click menu, so, if I needed to find matching records, all I had to do was right-click and hit ⇧⌘F.

Now, with FM12/13, the keyboard shortcuts don't show up for anything in the right-click menu.

Steps to reproduce the problem

In OSX Preferences, set up a Keyboard Shortcut of ⇧⌘C in both FileMaker 11 and FileMaker 12 or 13 for 'Constrain Found Set'. In Find mode, click on Requests at the top to confirm that shortcut is available for the command. In Browse Mode, right-click into a field. In FM11, the keyboard shortcut will be there. In FM12/13, it will not.

Expected result

Being able to use keyboard shortcuts from the right-click menu.

Actual result

Unable to use keyboard shortcuts from the right-click menu.
