Summary

Modifier keys stop working in layout mode

Product

FileMaker Pro

Version

Advanced, 11.0v4

Operating system version

OSX 10.7.3

Description of the issue

When in layout mode, shift dragging and option dragging objects has ceased to behave properly. It's as if the shift and/or option keys aren't even depressed. The problem appears to be isolated to FileMaker Pro and does not affect other applications (e.g. Option dragging a file in the finder behaves correctly). The problem only occurs when the LastPass browser extension is loaded in an open browser (https://lastpass.com/). I realize that the problem may in fact be with the LastPass extension and not FileMaker itself, but I have posted this bug with both vendors in search of a solution.

Steps to reproduce the problem

Install the LastPass extension in Firefox or Chrome, and launch the browser. Open FileMaker Pro and create a new database with a single field in one table. Create a new layout and place this field on the layout. Attempt to duplicate the field object on the layout using the option drag technique.

Expected result

The field object would be duplicated and placed on the layout where the mouse up event occurred.

Actual result

The field is moved to the new location even though the duplicate object icon appears during the drag operation (green plus sign).

Exact text of any error message(s) that appear

None.

Workaround

Quit the browser or uninstall the browser extension when using FileMaker layout mode.
