Summary

No files appear when choosing "open remote"

Product

FileMaker Pro

Version

11.x

Operating system version

OS X 10.7 (Lion)

Description of the issue

I have closed port 5003 on OS X 10.5 server in the firewall to force users to connect to the LAN via VPN (L2TP)
Open remote on FM Pro, select Farovite Hosts, add the IP (local IP) of the FM server, the list appears in the right window... This works perfectly from OSX 10.6.x, however from OS X 10.7 (Lion) the list will not appear.

I have to open port 5003 to enable OS X 10.7 users to access the FM files remotely.

Security is vital to the operation.

Steps to reproduce the problem

From Server Admin, select firewall, select Services, uncheck "FileMaker - name binding and transport" disable the port 5003 (which blocks access outside the LAN)

Set up a VPN (L2TP) connection in the Network preferences.

Connect to the office LAN through VPN.

Open FileMaker Pro, select File from the menu bar, select Open Remote, from the View drop down, select Favorite Hosts, click the Add button, type in the LAN IP of the FM server (server where FM files are hosted by FM server software)

In the Hosts window (where you just added the LAN IP) select the LAN IP.... No files appear in the Available Files window.

Expected result

Upon selecting the IP in the Hosts windows, hosted files should appear in the available files windows. (however, they do with previous operating systems to !0.7 Lion)

Actual result

No files appear in the Available files window

Exact text of any error message(s) that appear

No error messages, simply no files appear to choose from.

Workaround

Opening Port 5003, however, this reduces any measure of security.
