No starter solutions when SS screen opened. Templates in English Extras but will not load. Re-install does not solve
Mac Lion OSX 10.7.3
Thank you for your post.
Create a new user account, login to the new user account, launch FileMaker Pro, pull down the File menu and select "New from Starter Solution...". Any luck?
Is the FileMaker Pro 11 folder located in the Applications folder, with the FileMaker Pro 11 application in the FileMaker Pro 11 folder?
Try running Disk Utility (Hard Disk -> Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility), select the hard drive and repair disk permissions. Then, try launching FileMaker Pro 11.
Your email was forwarded to me. Thank you.
Since this works under a new user account, we know FileMaker Pro is installed properly and there is an issue with your user account.
In the previous post, run Disk Utility, select the hard drive and repair disk permissions. Also, remove the FileMaker Pro Preference file in the user account in case it is corrupt. You will find it at:
[User Account] -> Library -> Preferences -> com.filemaker.client.pro.plist
Since you are running under Mac OS X 10.7.x (Lion), Apple has hidden the user's Library folder. To gain access, hold down the option key as you pull down the Go menu and select "Library". Then, open the Preferences folder and remove the preferences file. Launch FileMaker Pro 11, and a new preferences file will be created.
Please continue to keep me updated with any progress.
Did all that and no go - still no Starter Solutions
Do a spotlight search for .fp7, does that locate them?
I can zip them and send them to you if you want.
Some are already in the Made for FileMaker solutions section.
I don't know what else to try. The Starter Solutions show in one user account but not in your original user account. Besides moving all your files from the original user account to the new user account, does anybody else have ideas what settings to check in the original user account?
Thanks for that
All the .fp7 files appear to be there. I've again run disk repair and removed com.filemaker.client.pro.plist from Preferences but still the same result. Can open Starter Solutions in the new account but not my own.
