Non-Printing object blocks sliding

FileMaker Pro

Operating system version

MacOS-X 10.7.3, Windows 7 Pro

Description of the issue

A layout which has a lot of sliding fields (reduce enclosing part), some of which are "All Above", some are "Only Directly Above" and some are "Sliding Left".  There was a block of non-printing text to the right of the printable area with a notation viewable in "Browse Mode".  This layout would properly slide with FileMaker 11 and below but in FileMaker 12 the sliding would not work.  It was discovered that the static non-printing text block was blocking the sliding.  Turning "Sliding On" for the non-printing text block solved the problem but should not be necessary.

Steps to reproduce the problem

Create a layout of sliding fields.  Put a non-printing text box midway in the layout to the right of the printable area and DO NOT mark the non-printing text as "sliding".

Expected result

The non-printing text should not inhibit sliding since it is not being printed.

Actual result

It inhibits sliding unless sliding is also added to the non-printing object.

Configuration information

Happens on both platforms.

Set the static text to sliding.
