Partial line data equates to zero in curve fitted charts

      Summary

Partial line data equates to zero in curve fitted charts

      Product

      FileMaker Pro

      Version

      11v2

      Operating system version

      XP

      Description of the issue

If you have two sets of delimited data for a line graph and one has more data points than the other the behavior differs when you change the chart style between Poly-Line and Curve Fitting.

The former will draw a partial line for a data set that has fewer data points.  The later will interpret the missing data points as being zeroes.

      Steps to reproduce the problem

Create curve fitting line chart with delimited data.  Have one data set have fewer data points than the other.

      Expected result

Partial line for the partial data set.

      Actual result

A nasty curve down to zero.

      Workaround

      Use Poly-Line style.

          Thank you for your post.

There is a similar issue reported where null values are interpreted as zeroes.  Regardless, I have sent your information along with your screen shot to our Development and Software Quality Assurance (Testing) departments for further review and confirmation.  As more information becomes available to me, I will let you know.
