      Summary

      password protected files

      Product

      FileMaker Pro

      Version

      12

      Operating system version

      Mac OS X

      Description of the issue

I upgraded to FM 12.0 from 11.0 and converted an existing database.  Now I can't open the original file or converted file in either 12.0 or 11.0 because a password is required.  I don't know the password.  What can I do to get into the database?

          Hello Vanessa Olmo:

          Thank you for posting.

The default password schema for FileMaker Pro files is:

          Username: Admin

          Password:

Leave the password box completely blank. If you are still unable to gain access to your file the password would have been set. It is possible that it would be saved in your Keychain Access.  You can access your Keychain Access by selecting the Finder then Utilities from the Go menu.
