Description of the issue

In FM solution with files "referenced" into containers, Generating a report, with 256 records (21 pages), each record with 9 text fields and one small container field. Then saving to PDF, will result in very large PDF file size, 68 MB.  Very Bad Result

With files "embedded" into containers, generating the same report, and saving to PDF results in relatively smaller pdf file size, 5.8 MB.  Acceptable Result

In iOS is even better, PDF file size for same report is only 1.5 MB.  Best Result

Steps to reproduce the problem

Reference files into containers. Generate a report with a container for each record, save to PDF.

Embed Files into containers. Generate a report with a container for each record, save to PDF.

Embed Files into containers. transfer to iOS, Generate a report with a container for each record, save to PDF.

Expected result

Expect PDF file sizes not be so large for files referenced into containers.

Actual result

Referenced files into containers, save to pdf, very, very large file size. Very Bad.

Embedded files into containers, save to PDF, much smaller file size. Acceptable.

In iOS, Embedded files into containers, save to PDF, very much smaller file size. Best Results..

Workaround

Always Embed files into containers, before saving to PDF.
