Summary

PDFs created with FMP 11 crash Apple Preview

Product

FileMaker Pro

Version

FileMaker Pro 11.0v4 (trial)

Operating system version

Mac OS 10.6.8

Description of the issue

PDFs created with FMP 11 intermittently cause Apple Preview to crash when trying to open the PDF.

NOTES:
- FileMaker Pro does not crash; only Preview crashes.
- These PDF files can be opened normally by Acrobat Reader v10 with no problems.
- PDF files not created by FileMaker Pro open normally.

Steps to reproduce the problem

1. Click Save as PDF.
2. Select "Records being browsed"
3. Save
4. Double click the PDF file to open

Expected result

PDF file should open.

Actual result

Sometimes the file opens as expected, but it usually crashes the Preview application completely. On occasion, the PDF fill will open but the record contents will be missing, leaving big gaps in the document where you would expect to see content.
