Summary

PDFs in containers get fuzzy when hosted on Windows FMS

Product

FileMaker Server

Version

14.0.2

Operating system version

Mac 10.10 for client, Win Server for FMS

Description of the issue

I have a file with container fields set to Optimize for images. It is also set to "Reduce or enlarge image to fit" as we have rather small images and we want them to fill the space. With the file open locally on my Mac, I can put vector PDF files and they display very sharp. If host that file on a Windows FMS, the same fields display very fuzzy in Browse and Preview modes.

Steps to reproduce the problem

Host a file on a Windows FMS.

Expected result

Sharp display of vector graphics, if the file is local or hosted.

Actual result

Sharp display with a local file, but low resolution (fuzzy) display when hosted.

Exact text of any error message(s) that appear

No error message. In the screen shot, the hosted version is on the left, and the local version is on the right.

Configuration information

All clients are Macs. The file will be hosted on a Windows FMS.

Workaround

They do display sharp if the container object is set to Optimize for interactive content, but then we get gray borders, and the image gets cut off if the size gets too far out of proportion. Not a good solution all around.
