Using WIndows XP and Filemaker 10, I cannot reproduce this. I can select the row and press the backspace button to delete the portal row.
I usually add a delete button to portal rows where I enable row deleting. That way I can script the process and pop up a much more user friendly custom dialog to confirm the delete action. Have you tried using a delete button on your portal row? Does that work for you?
Thank you for your post.
I am unable to replicate this problem on my Windows XP machine running FileMaker Pro 10 and FileMaker Pro 11. The only time I can get this to fail is if I don't have "All deletion of portal records" checked in the Portal Setup.
The suggestion by PhilModJunk is excellent. Please try this and let me know if this works.
And if the scripted button doesn't delete the portal row either, modify your script to use Show Custom Dialog to report Get ( LastError ) right after the delete portal row step to see what error code is produced. You can look the error code's meaining up in filemaker help and that might give you a clue.
Thank you for your replies and yes a button works perfectly well so no problem there. DaveF
Thank you, this better explains why the problem has appeared with this version of filemaker and also why I couldn't find anything in the documentation to indicate there had been a change.
