Yes I agree...
July 2012 - The 'next' and 'previous' buttons of FileMaker Go cannot be hidden (61 views)
...as do countless other users:
April 2011 - Hiding tab buttons (415 views)
September 2010 - FMGO doesn't hide menus when 'show tool bar' is off (834 views)
All posts raise valid problems this behavior causes. There is not a single post offering a rebuttal or a solution.Considering that the majority of FileMaker users actually never look in this forum and that only a small percentage of those use FileMaker Go we can assume that over 1300 views represent a very large portion of iOS users.
Is there any solution on this issue yet? I have newest Filemaker Go 13 on iPad with newest iOS and it's still the same. Layouts are made in FileMaker 12.
Thank you for your post.
The issue still appears in FileMaker Go 13. The Next and Previous buttons will only appear when the record is being edited. When the record is committed, the Next and Previous buttons disappear.
Hello TSGal, thanks for reply but I think you didn't understand the problem. I will try to explain it better.
When you are editing uncommitted record there is next and previous button that's not the issue.
What is wrong and annoying: When you type into edit box field and continue to the next field (e.g. value list) using next button the keyboard goes away but the grey area under the keyboard stays here so next and previous buttons are in the middle of the screen and everything under them is greyed out.
So again if you switch from text editable input field into not text editable input field the next and previous button won't go down with keyboard and stays here with grey background covering half of the screen without any purpose.
Thank for the clarification.
Our Testing/Development team has discussed extensively, as this is expected behavior. Even though the keyboard retreats, we didn't want users who tap Next/Previous to have those buttons move from above the keyboard to the bottom of the window while tabbing through fields.
I recommend that you enter this as a suggestion into our Feature Requests web form at:

Although I could copy your posts and paste them into the web form, there are a couple of questions asked that only you can answer.
