Problem with installing for CWP 2-machine solution through a DMZ
12 v 4
Windows Server 2008 R2
The issue we are having was, more or less, described in these posts, regarding earlier versions (9, and 10) of Filemaker Server:
My question is: is this still a bug? Or has it been fixed?
In short: we are trying to install a 2-machine version of CWP, across a DMZ/firewall.
One machine (the "master") is in a .16 subnet, the other (web server) is in a .18 subnet ("DMZ") (the "worker"). I install FMS on both machines, worker first. When I come to deploying the MASTER machine, it simply doesn't see the WORKER, and therefore cannot connect.
I am double-checking with our firewall people that the following ports are open going both directions:
5003, 16000, 16001, 16016, 16018, 16020, 16021 (Does IIS need to be installed on the MASTER machine, even though it won't be used as a web server?)
If there is still a bug with this configuration, please let me know, as I am obviously wasting my time. Otherwise, I will continue to iron out whatever issue(s) there are with my deployment.
I think the description of the problem covers it.
Connection, successful deployment.
MASTER does not see WORKER for deployment.
No error messages, it simply does not see the WORKER, as if I had never installed it on any other machine(s).
Our IT folks did some port opening work, and the issue was resolved. The 2 servers are seeing each other.
I guess that means the bug was fixed.
