Exactly how is it different? Only one repetition in FileMaker 11?
Never saw this one with the fmp 5 files that I converted.
Different versions handle file corruption differently. There might have been some latent corruption involved and then again maybe not. You might try using FileMaker 5 to recover the file, then converting the recovered copy.
If all else fails, you can redfine your field to the correct number of repetitions, export the data from the version 5 file as a tab or csv file, then import that data into your corrected Version 11 copy.
Thanks for the quick response!
I have a repeating field on a form that has 60 defined repetitions (it's in a colum) and only one shows up. I managed to correct ( I wish I knew what I did?) the other field.
In the layout mode all the other fields are numbered, this one only has one?
In Filemaker 11's Inspector, you can select the number of repetitions of a repeating field ( and the direction) that will be displayed. You may have just needed to modify those setttings.
To check to see if the field itself converted with the correct number of repetitions, you'd open Manage | Database | Fields, find the field definition, double click it and then select the storage tab to see how many repetitions were defined for that field.
