The missing files may be associated with the email client program set up on your mac, not the files that make up the FileMaker Pro Install.
Thank you for the post.
Some additional questions to further narrow this down:
1. What is the version of Mac OS X?
2. Can you send an email using the Default email reader without FileMaker?
3. What email provider (SMTP settings) are being used by the Mac Mail client?
4. What is the Default email reader? (see screenshot below)
Open Mac Mail > Click Mail > Preferences > General Tab > Default email reader:
My Mac OS X 10.8.5 iMac's default email reader is Mac Mail (6.6) and I am able to send mail from FileMaker Pro 12 without error.
Thanks for the quick reply. I think you are correct, that it's the email program and not Filemaker that's the problem. I believe that this is a link that explains the solution http://www.filemaker.com/12help/html/import_export.17.9.html#1038462 I've got a friend who will help me work through it. Thanks.
I got it working. It was 2 things. I went into 'settings' in gmail. Went the imap/pop tab. Went to 'configuration settings' and got the "Port' settings.
Next, I went to Apple Mail, Preferences, Default Mail Reader, and chose Mail 4.6 rather than Google.
Thanks for the help!
