    Remote access problem.

    MatthewSylvester

      Summary

      Remote access problem.

      Product

      FileMaker Pro

      Version

      File Maker Pro version 11.0v4

      Operating system version

Mac OS X version 10.6.8  / Snow Leopard

      Description of the issue

When I access my work database remotely ,( Work has File Maker Server) I can access the files with no problem and look through them. When I go to make any changes to a file such as "duplicate" a record or add to it, I get the beach ball that will spin and do so continuously until I force quit the program.
Could it be that I run Snow Leopard and the work server runs Lion causing a compatibility issue? I have no other ideas on what could be happening. Any help would be great.

          Matthew Sylvester,

          Thank you for your post.

The need to force quit the program can indicate that your Mac doesn't have enough resources available.  Try logging in to a new user and see if FileMaker will connect to the remote file and function normally.  If you still need to force quit FileMaker, we know that the issue is system-wide.

Some additional information will help us narrow down why this is happening. Keep us posted.
